Sophie was a graduate of Bon Secours School of Nursing and dedicated Emergency Department RN. Nursing was her passion! At 26 she was diagnosed with EHE "Epithelioid Hemangioendothelioma - National Cancer Institute"

Sophie continued to work despite her diagnosis and treatment schedule. When Sophie could no longer safely work in the ED, she turned to teaching future nurses. She enjoyed her time teaching and often referred to her students as her kids. Sadly, Sophie succumbed to EHE in February 2021. 

 

We hope that through this scholarship, her memory, passion for nursing, and dedicated personality will live on through future nurses!
